New scout for the Solar System Boundary launched

The Interstellar Boundary Explorer is under way. IBEX was successfiully launched by a Pegasus rocket. dropped from a "Stargazer" L-1011 airplane over the Pacific on the 19th October 2008, 1:45 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

An interstellar X PRIZE?

Peter DIamandis, the initiator of the Ansari  X PRIZE - which led to the famous flight of SpaceShipOne and to the birth of Virgin Galactic -, held a seminar on Long-term X PRIZES within the seminar programme of the Long Now Foundation on 12th September 2008.
